Deathraiser is a Brazilian thrash metal band from Leopoldina, which was founded in 2006 under the name Merciless.

History

edit

The band was founded in 2006 under the name Merciless by guitarist and singer Thiago, drummer William, guitarist Ramon and bassist Rafael. On September 29th and 30th 2007, the band recorded their first demo called Possessed by Thrash. After the release, some appearances followed until the end of the year. As a result, bassist Rafael left the line-up and was replaced by Junior[1]. In 2008 further appearances followed, among others in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. In 2009 the band changed their name to Deathraiser because there was already a band with the same name. In 2011 they recorded the album Violent Aggression.[2]

Style

edit

The band plays classic Thrash Metal, reminiscent of the early works of Kreator, Sepultura and Slayer.[3]
