I live in Paonia, Colorado, USA. My websites are http://skiinghistory.org and http://skiyoungernow.com. I serve as president of the International Skiing History Association and editor of its magazine Skiing History.

My chief role at Wikipedia is to monitor pages about skiing and the history of skiing, for factual accuracy and vandalism.

I began this work in early 2007 when it became clear that many skiing-related articles had been vandalized or pirated. Moreover many had been written from specific national points of view (the Norwegian version of skiing history was until recently often at odds with, say, the Austrian version; writers in North America are often ignorant of developments in Europe and vice versa). I've tried to resolve these issues with a more global perspective.

In that regard I have a request for other editors: On occasion I've cited sources in other languages, and these references are often deleted on the grounds that they're unsuitable for the English-language version of Wikipedia. Please leave these references intact. With today's online translation tools, articles in other European languages are instantly accessible to monoglot English speakers.
