UCare is an extended warranty and all risks protection plan which is be applicable to IT products in Malaysia [1].
The UCare plan is applicable to most branded desktop computers, notebook computers and projectors that are purchased new from authorised sales channels in Malaysia.

editNormally, when a computer or projector is bought, it comes with an original manufacturer's warranty for a period of 1 year. The UCare plan automatically extends the original manufacturer's 1 year warranty to the 2nd and 3rd year. The UCare plan also comes with an All Risks Protection which provides coverage against lost or damage caused by fire, lightning, flood, burglary, armed robbery or accidental damanges during the 1st year of purchase.
Activation
editThe UCare members are asked to register their membership within 30 days in order to activate their protection plan.
Advantages
editThe UCare plan differs from other extended warranty or all risks protection in Malaysia in the following area:
- it does not impose excess fee when users make claims
- the plan is transferable to the second-hand owner if it is within the period of coverage
- it is applicable to non-Malaysians
- it allows members to make more than one claim as long as the claim amount is within the value of the initial insured-product purchase price
Disadvantages
edit- UCare offers both extended warranty and all risks protection plan together. Unlike other brands in the market, it does not offer those protection separately.
- Activation is required. Otherwise, the protection plan becomes invalid and expires in 30days.
- Does not cover loss due to snatch theft or stolen from vehicle.
