I am a frequent, grateful user and passionate advocate of Wikipedia. I am based in the UK and I studied mathematics and computer science at Cambridge University. I have worked as a professional musician, sound engineer, author, journalist and computer programmer, amongst other jobs.

My edits are mostly to improve intelligibility by correcting grammar and punctuation. I do, however, have one "pet hate": the use of "back-up vocals" where backing or background vocals is meant. A back-up vocalist is an understudy: someone standing by and ready to step in in case the main vocalist is unable to perform. A backing vocalist provides a vocal backing. Simples ;)

Be kind.
