Closing at Llama Moot 2013

Llama Moot is a gathering of Venturer Scouts and Rover Scouts, ages 14–26 looking for a Rover Moot experience in Southern Ontario near Niagara Falls in March. The organizing committee consisted of members of the League of Llamas, a collections of friends from multiple smaller Battlefields Council Venturer and Rover groups that enjoyed many moots together.

Spearheaded by the efforts of co-camp chiefs Skye Walker (Jedi Llama) and Nick Larmond (Nikachu Llama), the first wildly successful Llama Moot was completed on the weekend of March 22 to 24, 2013. While initially expecting 100 guests for the first year, the team was shocked when the pre-registrations nearly doubled that amount. The turnout of Venturers and Rovers expressing their love for llamas proved to be astounding. Highlights of the first Llama Moot included watching The Emperor's New Groove, the Llama Hunt (Kudos to the only three who found Ninja Llama), the drinking game, aggressive Duck Duck Goose, the scavenger hunt, ninja walk, archery, a sing-along campfire/burning of the llama, over 1000 tweets #llamamoot, and the presentation of the Medal of Maple to co-camp chief Nikachu. Representation of groups came as far away as Windsor, ON; Montreal, QC; and Buffalo, NY, USA. Interested parties contacted the organizers from as far away as California, British Columbia, and Ireland.
