History

edit

The Redesdale line was a branch line railway which connected with the Melbourne - Murray River Railway at Redesdale Junction, between Kyneton station and Malmsbury station. Other stopping points on the line, going towards Redesdale, included Edgecombe, Green Hill, East Metcalfe, Emberton and Barfold[1][2]. The Redesdale line was opened on the 15th January 1891[1] and closed sometime during the period 1960-1979[3], however services along the line had probably ceased by 1955[1]. The tracks and stations have since been removed.
