Passive Surveillance
edit"Passive" - accepting or allowing what happens or what others do, without active response or resistance.
"Surveillance" - Following the whereabouts, goings-on, or changing information of one or more individuals.
Passive surveillance is a concept based around gathering information on a constant basis, without directly targeting individual persons'. Usually associated with certain information gathering techniques such as Telephone tapping and mass internet information gathering.
Organisations usually associated with gathering information on a mass scale are homeland security alongside the Central Intelligence Agency and the Federal Bureau of Investigation
