Overview
editthe Muslim Youth Soccer League (MYSL) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1998. With about 50 players enrolled in its first season, the league had merely four teams playing, all of which were boys' teams. Today the league brings together over 1300 Muslim and non-Muslim players, ranging from children under 5 years of age, to the men's and women's leagues. The aim of MYSL is to bring the community together, provide a safe and encouraging environment for children and youth to enjoy sports, and to demonstrate Islamic values through fair play and community envolvement. As members of a rapidly growing Muslim community, MYSL believes it is everyone's responsibility to teach children to play together today, regardless of their cultural and/or racial differences, so they can cooperate, building a better Canada in the future.[3]
