Dr. Frank Baranowski Ph.D., radio talk host in Phoenix passed away at the Immanual Campus of Care-Hospice of the Valley early Saturday evening at 7:50 PM (January 19, 2002). Baranowski captivated radio audiences with his extraordinary stories of Mysteries Around Us on Newsradio 620 KTAR for nearly 13 years. He produced a mini version of Mysteries Around Us short stories for OnAirPeople.com and was heard on KRXS-FM in Globe over the past year. His show was heard each Saturday and Sunday night from 10:00 PM to Midnight on KTAR. He presented the stories and feature with fascinating twists and turns for his listener in a style some have penned as radio the way it used to be. His experience as a regressive hynotherapist and world-wide reputation afforded him the ability to bring well-known guest speakers to the program as well. In recent months he suffered from congestive heart failure. Despite frequent trips to Tucson Medical Center and local facilities, and round the clock medication equipment carried with him, he continued to teach his classes at Glendale Community College and produced and presented his four hours of popular programming each week on KTAR. His last show for KTAR aired on December 29, 2001. Baranowski, lectured in 43 countries, 35 states, seven Canadian Provinces and was enthusiastically proclaimed from Greenland to South Africa as an expert in hypnotic age regression and past life therapy. He was the only American invited to address the World Conference of Healer, Lourdes, France. He appeared on the Larry King Show and was tested at four colleges and six clinics, including the famous Schmertz in Basel, Switzerland, for his amazing ability to see the human aura. He was featured in the motion pictures "Mind, Body & Spirit", "The Psychic Connection" and has appeared on "Sightings" and "Unsolved Mysteries". Dr. Baranowski was covered by all major networks, the BBC and Canadian television. The consummate radio professional, Baranowski had a faithful and enormous audience on his Mysteries Around Us program as evidenced by hundreds of emails, and calls received over the past week prior to his passing. Listeners of long standing wrote heartfelt thanks and formed prayer vigils all over the Valley. Emails came from as far away as London, Australia, Canada, and Bombay, India with messages of thanks hope and love for the man, they say, reached around the world with his classes, his radio program and his world-renown talents. He was an instructor at Glendale Community College, teaching two courses Roots of Consciousness and Phenomena of Men. The classes taught each semester were so popular that many students waited at the beginning of each semester hoping for an open seat in his class. Gifted lecturers and entertainers came from around the country to join Frank's class as guest instructors including Estabon in Phoenix. His business, Insights Within dealt with past life experience and regressive hypnotherapy sessions for thousands of patients for a number of decades. Baranowski, was born in Michigan City, Indiana and came to Phoenix in 1960. He is survived by his wife Karen and a brother in Indiana, along with 8 children and 22 grandchildren. The Frank Baranowski Memorial Fund has been set up at all Bank of America locations in lieu of flowers to assist the family in the huge medical expenses as a result of Baranowski's long illness. A memorial to celebrate the life of Frank Baranowski will be announced on his website, www.mysteriesaroundus.com in the coming days. KTAR Radio will present a tribute to Frank in the way of a two hour special program with a date to be announced on his website as well.
