I do not think that I should work on a page for Dr. Canagarajah - the living persons stuff makes me nervous, and I think incorporating his research into Translanguaging is sufficient enough for now.

Translanguaging in Education

edit
  • Li (2013)[1] - Teachers need to expand their abilities to relate to the diverse cultural practices of their students, including language use, in order to empower students to work against cultural hegemony. Li's argument can serve as an argument for wider-scope application of Dr. Canagarajah’s approach to translanguaging. Translanguaging and the use of multiple languages and literacies in society is beneficial for everyone involved. Supporting the inclusion and teaching of multiple literacies to the lower classes so that they may gain agency and prestige in society - this is important at the academic point? Or does this point belong in the lingua franca section.
