My name is Rebecca Hartree and I work part-time for West Dean College as a receptionist and, from home, as a freelance proof-reader and occasional project admin support worker. In the past I have worked for the University of Chichester in a variety of capacities: as library assistant, admissions assistant, Performance Curriculum Coordinator in the Music Department and most recently as Administrative Asssistant for the University of Chichester Music Academy (junior department).
Pages I have created are for Jonathan Little – composer. There may be some concern that this raises a potential conflict of interest. In my admin roles within the University I was introduced to Jonathan Little as one of the Academic Lecturers within the department. Since which time I have proof read his Literary Sources of Nineteenth-Century Musical Orientalism and helped with data entry for the accompanying Chronologies.
In creating/editing the page, I have tried to follow the guidance for employees of a cultural or academic institution understanding that being ‘employed by an institution is not a de facto conflict of interest’. Jonathan has been able to supply me with details or permissions to use audio clips/photo and I have tried to ensure that a neutral tone was adopted and that all comments were suitably referenced to outside parties or verifiable sources.
