I have several years of writing experience specifically medical writing. I hold a degree in biochemistry and I am presently finishing my master's in biochemistry. I am fascinated with the role adipose tissue plays in the human body after it has been perceived as a simple storage site for excess biofuel. Recent research has elucidated its endocrine function participating in paracrine pathways via the release of bioactive substances.

I have the fortunate opportunity to see the world and experience diverse cultures. My world travels have carried me to Istanbul, Hong Kong, Egypt, Canada:), Mexico, Brazil, and Europe. Allowing one's self to be submersed within a new culture establishes an important level of understanding and appreciation for the diversity that paints our Earth. You come to appreciate the subtle aspects of life that are far too often disregarded.

I am an avid aquarist and presently have a 300 gallon reef aquarium. I am relentlessly captivated by our coral ecology and the delicate endosymbiotic relationships necessary to sustain that system. The small imbalances could mean the difference between a thriving ecosystem and one that sadly succumbs to the deleterious shifts in chemical levels and deteriorates. The coral reef is a beautiful system that is threatened by our way of life and will one day become extinct and aquariums like mine will be a sad tribute to a once spectacular display of life and its interconnection.
