    Purpose & Role

    The vision of the Bendigo Business Council is for Bendigo to be the Regional Business Capital of Australia. The Bendigo Business Council represents and advocactes on behalf of businesses in Bendigo and Central Victoria. It organises business networking events and communicates with its members via a weekly e-newsletter. The Bendigo Business Council supports the operations and activities of the Bendigo Young Professionals Network and womeni.s.e. - a networking group for women.

    History

    The Bendigo Business Council was formed in June 2008 from the union of the Bendigo Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Central Victorian Business Network.

    The Bendigo Chamber of Commerce and Industry was incorporated in 1913.

    The Central Victorian Business Network was formed in 2005 to organise and promote networking activities for business in Bendigo.

    Structure & Governance

    The Bendigo Business Council is a company limited by guarantee. It is goverened by a volunteer board of ten members and employs a part-time executive officer, Kevin de Vries. Administrative support is contracted from Continuing Education Bendigo. The office of the Bendigo Business Council is located in central Bendigo at 18 Myers Street. Its offices are shared with Continuing Education Bendigo.
