Russ Morris

Russell John Morris (born 14 April 1980) is a British Radio Presenter known as Russ Morris.

Early Life

Russ was born in Wrexham, North Wales and was educated at Ysgol Bryn Alyn and Yale College, Wrexham

Career

Russ began his radio career at MFM 103.4 in Wrexham at the age of 16. He began as an assistant for Peter Morgan on the MFM breakfast show. He then became co-presenter of the breakfast show with Steve Furnell which ran for 2 years. In 2000, Russ began hosting his own evening show which was networked across the North Wales region.

Signal 1

Russ left MFM in 2001 and began presenting on Signal 1 in Staffordshire & Cheshire. The Signal 1 Hitlist, was a weekday evening show, using the Top 30 countdown format with irreverent features and celebrity interviews. He interviewed many of the pop stars of the time, including Victoria Beckham. As well as presenting, Russ also became the station producer, responsible for the imaging of the radio station.

Red Dragon FM

In 2003 he moved to Red Dragon FM in South Wales to present the 10-1 late show, The Late Bit. Russ then became part of the breakfast show team, co presenting & co producing the show.


BRMB & Free Radio

In May 2005 Russ moved to Birmingham to present on brmb. He initially presented the evening show, but soon moved up the schedule to present 1-4 afternoon show and later the 9-1 mid morning show which he presented for five years. Russ was one of the few presenters to present on Brmb and Free radio when the radio station rebranded. During this time Russ also provided cover on Capital 95.8 in London.

Live Hosting

Alongside radio presenting, Russ also hosts many live events. He is matchday stadium announcer at Aston Villa Football Club & West Bromwich Albion Football Club, entertaining fans before kickoff. This led to russ hosting at Wembley Stadium when West Bromwich Albion reached 2007 Football League Championship play-off final. During the summer Russ is stadium announcer at Edgbaston Cricket Ground where he hosts Warwickshire County Cricket Club domestic Twenty20 matches.

Russ has also hosted many live events including Party in the Park in Birmingham & Cardiff, Free Radio Live & also hosted a gala dinner during the 2012 Summer Olympics for Team Jamaica.
