The Baptist Temple at Temple University is a historic venue owned and programmed by Temple University. Built in 1889, and funded by donations from philadelphia residents and the university's founder Russell Conwell, The Baptist Temple originally housed the congregation of The Grace Baptist Church (now the Grace Baptist Church of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania). The Chapel of the Four Chaplains was added to the lower level of the building in 1951 as an omage to soldiers who gave their lives saving others on the sinking USAT Dorchester during World War II.
