{Russ Landery} is a Jazz Fusion Funk Bassist/composer/singer/producer. Born Russell Eddie Landery on November 8, 1958 in the southern Illinois town of {Du Quoin Ill}

Russ grew up in from the Chicagoland area town Joliet Ill. He grew up with a speech impediment as a stutterer, receiving speech therapy for most of his childhood and through adolescence. Russ, discovered he could better communicate through music and overcame his condition by learning pace and placement of notes are like that of speech.

After attending {Lewis University} and {Wiley College} and earning a bachelor’s degree in speech and theater, Landery moved to Los Angeles. Landery spent several years working as a band and studio musician. Russ began to focus on his own expressions of sound and has released four albums which he produced and wrote every track, he also played multiple instruments. The albums include; Walk the walk, Indian Summer, Time and Life Come knocking at my door. His album “Time” features Jazz/Funk/Fusion drummer, {Gene Clark Jr} on several tracks and his album “Indian Summer” contains the song {Jahmisa}, which was featured on Jazz24’s top 100 and the song Spring wind} was featured in the movie {The Vigilante}. Landery has his own record label, DR. RAS music.


Russ has traveled the world playing a unique style of Smooth Jazz mixed with funk, blues, classical, rock and international influences such as, Latin Jazz, Reggae, Asian, African, and Indian vibes.

Russ Landery is a member of {Phi Beta Sigma fraternity} and the {Sui Lim Pia Kung Fu Association}.
