Membership Information:
There are about 70 members. Any student of NDSU interested in playing chess can join the club by contacting the chess club via Orgsync or appearing in person at the chess club meetings.
History: Started in August 2007 by the current President of the NDSU Chess Club together with the help of a former chess player of NDSU namely Joseph French as it remained inactive with the depature of the former President of the NDSU chess club, Dmitri Barabanov from NDSU. The chess club was reformed to popularize chess in NDSU as well as to train and provide funding for its player to participate in tournaments.
The Annual Inter School Chess tournament is held annually as decided by the by the Faculty Advisor, President and Officers of the ND State Chess Federation.
