Early Life and Career
editImmanuel Faust was born on 8 November 1848 in the Kingdom of Württemberg, a country within the German Empire. His father, Johannes Faust, was a professor of law at Ulm University, coming from a well-to-do family. His mother, Mary Faust, came from a family of lawyers, and Immanuel's parents heavily influenced Immanuel in studying law. He attended school in Ulm, and was a very bright student.
