I'm a Parliamentary Researcher working in the House of Commons in the United Kingdom. Previous to this, I was a postgraduate history student in modern history, with a special interest in military history. My interests remain historical, but also political.

My areas of particular interest this year are:

  • Eighteen century British Imperial history
  • European Diplomatic history
  • The socio-ecomonic aspects of the American Civil War

Previous areas I have studied include:

  • The English Reformation
  • Central European History 1740-1919
  • Machiavelli's il Principe
  • Contemporary military strategy
  • Various other overview courses
  • Medieval Papal and Holy Roman Imperial History
  • The history of popular culture in early modern Europe
  • Trends in opposition and heresy in the late medieval period.

Not currently working on any articles - focusing on reviewing and assessing. Have a few articles that I want to brush up when I get the time, mainly in the American Revolutionary War section, which was the focus of both my degrees.

Currently on a private assessment drive - I check the unassessed military history page and unassessed politics page as often as I can.
