"Abbey Road on the River" often abreviated AROTR is an annual tribute festival dedicated to the music of the John Lennon and Paul McCartney and a celebration of the Beatles. It is traditionally held on Memorial Day weekend. It is the largest Beatles tribute festival in the US and is the second largest Beatles tribute festival in the world. The International Beatles Week Festival held in Liverpool England is currently the largest.
Abbey Road on the River hosts many different types of Tribute Bands. Some bands try to look and sound like the Beatles. Other bands play Beatles music accurately, but do not dress as Beatles. Other bands celebrate the music of Lennon and McCartney without trying to reproduce the Beatles sounds.
