Ruth Bernstein is a Ph.D. student at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. Ruth is an avid puzzler, loves to cook, and enjoys taking her dog, Phoebe, hiking, camping, and boating. She also enjoys reading, particularly Christopher Moore, Kurt Vonnegut, Franz Kafka, and Italo Calvino. She loves watching action and adventure movies and is a big proponent of hammocks.

Ruth was born and raised in Memphis, TN. She graduated from Portland State University with her bachelor's degree, then from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with her master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and Psychology. She currently lives in Miami, FL with her dog, Phoebe.

Research edit

Her research focuses on predictors of survival following double lung transplant in adolescents with cystic fibrosis. Additionally, she studies barriers to adherence in adolescents and adults with cystic fibrosis. She also works clinically to diagnose and provide treatment for a variety of mental health disorders in children and adolescents.
