"Put Your Hearts Up" is the debut single by American singer-songwriter and actress Ariana Grande. She released the single under Universal Republic Records on December 12th, 2011. The song debuted on the US iTunes Charts at number 61. After about one day it fell to number 87, afterwords it fell off of the US iTunes chart. Her single also peaked at number 25 on the US Pop Songs Chart

Recording and writing

Grande wrote the song with Linda Perry for Grande's upcoming debut album set to be released in early 2012. The single samples a line from Perry's song "What's Up?".

Release and cover

Ariana decided to let her fans be a part of choosing the single's artwork by showing four possible covers for the single via her account on Twitter. After the fans voted, the cover was chosen and the release date for the single was announed via Ariana Grande's Twitter account on November 29th, 2011. "Put Your Hearts Up" was originally going to be released on December 20th, 2011, but was later approved to be released earlier. "Put Your Hearts Up" premiered on iTunes on December 12th, 2011.

Music video

The music video for "Put Your Hearts Up" was shot on November 23rd, 2011. On February 14th, 2012, the official music video was uploaded on YouTube under ArianaGrandeVEVO at a length of 3 minutes and 49 seconds. After Grande's music video reached approxomitly 6.5 million views, she released a raw footage version of her single's music video on May 8th, 2012 under her own YouTube account onapitzari.
