I am a software engineer and author, living in Sunnyvale, California. I specialize in the Perl programming language, in areas of web applications and web services. I maintain, amongst other projects, a Perl implementation of the XML-RPC specification. I also develop in Java and C, when appropriate for the task.
In my spare time I build models, primarily tanks/AFVs, military aviation and figurines. This led me to a strong interest in military history, which in turn eventually led to my decision to help in whatever moderate ways I could with the Wikipedia project. Thus far, my contributions have been limited to subjects within the Wikipedia Military History Project. I hope, over time, to be able to contribute more substantially.
I may be reached at rjray@blackperl.com.
