Rhap Sajul Salazar made the Philippines proud when he won the title of Junior Grand Champion of the World at the 2009 World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Hollywood, California. He bagged 5 Gold medals and wowed the crowd with his powerful renditions of Somewhere over the Rainbow, Reach, I’ll Be There and All By Myself.
Rhap, however, got his first big break when he emerged as the Brightest Star on ABS-CBN’s popular singing contest, Little Big Star, which also paved the way for the success of talents like Charice Pempengco and Makisig Morales. Rhap was only 8 years old at the time.
He recently launched is his CD-lite album simply entitled “Rhap Salazar” under Star Records which features the timeless and memorable Michael Jackson songs Ben, Music and Me, Got To Be There, One Day In Your Life, and Never Can Say Goodbye.
Aside from his TV appearances on ASAP, Rhap has also appeared in several movies, TV shows and commercials.
Rhap was recently invited to guest on The Ellen Show at Warner Brothers in Burbank, California.
Rhap is currently one of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic artists but is personally managed by Ms. Kitchie Benedicto and KB Entertainment Unlimited, Inc.
Rhap Trivia: Rhap was born on February 3, 1996. Rhap was only 5 years old when he first started joining amateur singing contests in his home province . He won his first title as over-all-champion in the Linggo ng Wika Celebration in his hometown school. Rhap started singing when we was only 3 years old. Rhap’s most unforgettable memory is when he, at 6 years old, won against senior paricipants in singing contests. His first formal training was with Center for Pop Music, Philippines. Rhap Salazar was a part of the Group called MAK and the Dudes (Oldies But Kiddies).
