Hi and welcome to my user page. Thanks for visiting. My name is Steve Montgomery and I go by RF Troubleshooter here because that is the name of my consulting company.

I have 12+ years of experience developing wireless devices and protocols. In 1996, I became the first employee of an RF module start-up in Grants Pass, OR called Linx Tecnologies. In 2001, I founded Radiotronix. Today, I am a consultant working on embedded wireless projects and the creator of OpenRF™. OpenRF™ is completely free and available to any customer interested in making products wireless.
I am very interested in battery powered mesh networks for applications such as automated meter reading, asset tracking, and home/building automation. I am currently working on several projects (OpenRF™ included) related to those applications. My interests are commercial, however, and not academic. I really only want to work on technologies that have practical applications to real market problems which exist today.
