Etunda Irrigation Scheme
editEtunda irrigation Scheme located at Ruacana in the northern region of Namibia.The Etunda Scheme is running by Mr Johan le Riche,manager and Ananias Theophilus, Etunda's assistant manager, and Toivo Shivute, the agrigultural expert. Etunda started with few people, but now the number of people increases every year. The project is divided into two parts, commercial and small-scale farming. The small-scale farmers grows variety types of crops throughout the year.They sell their products to different places in counrtywide. The small farmers maintain know how to maintain and manage their crops. [1]. Although they successfully sell their food,they still face the problem of transporting their products from place-to-place since some do not have transport. They even produce a lot of products,but there is no place to store it in the farm. The small-scale farmes also offers casual jobs to the nearby villagers and they earns foods for their famillies.[2]. The government also help these farmers by offering them with tractors,the center pivots, trucks and small vehicles but it's not enough for all of them.[3].
