My name is Kelsey Rediger. I am a freshman attending Georgia Southern University. I graduated Sequoyah High School. I received the Hope Scholarship because of the grades I received throughout my high school years. This scholarship helped pay for my tution and books.
Wikipedia Contributes edit
I have contributed to Wikipedia for the first time during my first semester of college. I wrote an article pertaining the HOPE beach volleyball tournament. This was the first and only article that I have written for WIkipedia. It gives information about the event such as purpose it contains, where it takes place, and other information about past and upcoming tournaments. I will continue working on my article to make it better, more informative, and updated. The article is H.O.P.E Beach Volleyball Charity. I have made a few other minor edits on other articles, but nothing big.
Technology edit
Technology is not one of my strong points. I am smart in the area of technology. I am not one of those people who is into new and advanced technology. I know how to work the technology that is used in daily life such as email, internet, ipods, and cell phones. On the other hand, running programs and higher technology equipment is over my head. For example, coding in wikipedia was a struggle for me because it is not something you would do or use in your daily life. My life would definatly be different without technology though. I use my cell phone, ipod, and the internet for facebook, email, and school work everyday.
Wikipedia edit
In high school all my teachers did not allow us to use Wikipedia. Our school system blocked Wikipedia from our computers. They believed that the resource was not reliable and completely true information. I use Wikipedia for research on new topics that I am not fully aware of, but I do not constantly get on Wikipedia. I think Wikipedia is a good website to have out on the internet. It gives people a chance to write about stuff they have knowledge on and share with other people.
Languages edit
I was born an American English speaker and writer. During high school, I completed four years of the French language. Therefore, I am able to understand and translate bits and pieces of French. I plan on continuing studying the French language throughout my college education.
