On June 5, 1960, a non-scheduled C-46 plane with 65 persons aboard crashed into the Atlantic Ocean 330 miles northeast of Miami. It was operated by Westair Transport, whose home office was in Seattle, Washington. It was carrying migratory workers from San Juan, Puerto Rico to New Jersey. The plane was slated to land in Wilmington, Delaware, then onward to Millville, New Jersey.
