Uushinga

Uushinga i a settlement in the oshikoto region of northen Namibia. its suitatued 11 km from ondangwa,and next to omandongo settlement the near by villages are, Iihongo,Okaliveva. The headman of this village is Aron Mupupa.it belongs to Onayena electoral consituency.


Its separated by the main road from Omuthiya to Ondangwa.There is one Kidgardern, which is started in 1999. The near by primary school in Onathinge south combined school and Iihongo primary school.


Homes are made of trees poles cut from the forest. Due to the high growth rate,suitable trees are becoming scares. Alternative buildings materials such as brinks,mud,thatch,and mesh wire are now being used to construct homes.people in this village speak oshindonga dialects of the oshiwambo language.many homesteads practice subsistance farming which serves as the main sources of food and income.Farming activities include mahangu cultivation, and herding cattle,goats,and donkeys.


Up to now the power supply only reaches the Cuca shops,near by school and villages but plans are underways to extend it to reach homesteads, and Kidgarden.
