iBB in 2016


Inye Bray Bomari-Briggs, also known as iBB, is a Nigerian Musician/Song Writer, Actor, Model, and a graduate of Electrical/Electronics Engineering. Born in the mid 80's and Raised in Portharcourt City of Rivers State, by Scholars, his father is a retired Chemical Engineeer. iBB is a multi-talented, diverse, and broad individual, with many attributes and a vast knowledge in history, which he admits to be one of his passions, and this can be reflected in every aspect of his life. He is the definiton of a "Gemini" a term which he first used as his artist name, but changed it later to "Brix" and finally decided to use "iBB", a term friends and family have also used to refer to him all his life. In 2006, he was invited by China Acheru and Gbenga James, to feature as a temporary sports analyst for Rythm 93.7, but had to retire after a short span, due to his academic pursuit at that very time in the Universty of Benin. Till this day, he's credited with being one of the youngest individuals to have attained this. In his acting career, he has appeared on Episodes of Tinsel. As a youth corper, he performed and thrilled fellow corpers at his Lagos camp. He was also invited, and interviewed as special guest youth corper at Corpers' Show - NTA2Lagos, where he aslo performed.

His music is mostly Dancehall/Raggae, but he knows no boundry when it comes to genre too, and his versatilty is also reflected in his art, he's high-life music is inspired by the late Cardinal Rex Jim Lawson, whom he quotes as " the greatest musician Nigerians have forgotten" . He was also influenced by different kinds of music while growing up, and to him, music is beyond language or culture. Like many, he started singing at a tender age, In his local Baptist Church, he was a member of the children's choir, called, "The Superstars of Jesus". He actively got involved in the music scene since 2010, and has since then, systematically evolved into the phenomenon he is today. He is presently the C.E.O of ALLIANZ TURF MUSIC CARTEL (ATMCartel), a self-owned music label under which he operates. A chronic Vybz Kartel Fan, iBB says the Jamaican musician is one of his major influences, along with Busy Signal, Mavado and Demarco to mention a few, even though he draws a lot of inspiration from old Nigerian musicians also, a core of which were mostly raggae artist, in the late 80's into the 90's, like Evi Edna Ogholi, Oritiz Wiliki, Majek Fashek, and the Mandators. To him, the Nigerian music Industry has declined over the years, in terms of lyrical content and substance, even though the industry has risen to be arguably the most influencial in Africa.
