(main article Family Force 5)

In 2004, Olds and his siblings decided to form another band, originally called The Phamily. They recruited other members Nathan Currin and Brad Allen, Olds having known Currin from college. However, Prince (musician) claimed copyright to the name, since he had a band in the 80s called The Family. In order to avoid legal issues, the members changed the name to Family Force 5. They began the recording of their debut album Business Up Front/Party in the Back, and shortly afterwards, Allen left the band. The remaining members then hired Derek Mount to fill the position for guitarist and finished production. After successful touring and promotion of their first album, the boys went back into the studio in 2008 to record Dance or Die. It was well-received, but many fans missed the southern rock sound of the first album. In 2009, the album Dance or Die with a Vengeance was released, a remix album of the songs off of DOD. Later that year, the band recorded Family Force 5 Christmas Pageant, their first collaboration of holiday tunes. In 2011, they finished their III EP, which featured three songs previewing their upcoming album, III. III comes out October 18, 2011.

Personal life

Olds was married to Lauren Ezell in January 2007. In September 2007, Cash Solomon Olds, their first child, was born.
