Rob Raisch is a developer, serial entrepreneur and Internet "greybeard" residing near Boston, MA. He currently holds the position of Chief Technology Officer for [Financial Media Holdings Group, Inc.], publishers of [Compliance Week].

In early 1992, along with Stephen P. Dyer, Jonathan Groves and William Love, Rob founded "The Internet Company", one of the first development companies focused solely on building scalable, effective commercial presence online.

He has helped hundreds of companies, like The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The New England Journal of Medicine, The British Broadcasting Company (BBC), America Online, and Microsoft, to understand and begin to view the Global Internet as an integral part of their evolving business strategies. (Some took his advice, others didn't.)

An early participant in the creation of online technology standards we all take for granted today, Rob helped set the ground work or in some cases, actively developed, technologies like Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Presentational Style Sheets (CSS), Browser Saved State (cookies), Online Publishing, Instant Messaging, Online Education, and others.

Over the years, Rob founded or materially participated in the following companies:

  • The Cambridge Entrepreneurial Network / CENTnet, Cambridge MA
  • The Internet Company, Cambridge MA
  • The Electronic Newsstand, Washington D.C.
  • RivalWorks, Waltham MA
  • Plexicon, Inc., Newton MA
