Main jome mosque — is built in 1899, one of the 8 religious institutions in the Andijan region during that period was precisely the main jome (Devonaboy) mosque.[1]
In the summer months of 2019, reconstruction is began and ended in may 2021. And on June 18 of the same year, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev opened the main jome Mosque of Andijan region.[2]
The new building is built in the style of an ancient porch and gate. On its two edges are towers 54 meters high, and on top of the main building is an 18-meter-diameter dome. Previously, the capacity of the mosque was 5 thousand people; now the building can accommodate more than 15 thousand prayer rooms. The mosque has all the conditions needed for tourists. It is equipped with all modern equipment.[3]
"I would like to thank the engineers, builders and decorators, sponsors who contributed to the construction of this mansion. May the mosque be blessed to the people of Andijan and serve our people for many years", — said Shavkat Mirziyoyev who is the president of Uzbekistan.[4]
