The Ultrasonic Research Laboratory of Tehran is a complex found with the aim of lending intellectual support to the researches carried out by the students of the Islamic Azad University majoring in the Science and Research Branch; as well as leading and executing extracurricular projects. In this laboratory, which is fully equipped with the latest Ultrasound devices, various types of scientific research and experiments are being performed to study the behavior of Ultrasonic waves which are the ones at the frequencies greater than 20 kHz and significantly higher than the human hearing range.

This new technology is being widely used in quite different fields ranging from medical diagnostic techniques (mainly imaging from the internal organs), medical treatments like Physical therapy to analyzing products without causing any damage, known as Nondestructive Testing and also promoting the quality of food.Employing Nano-emulsions in food packaging[1]

Tehran Ultrasonic Research Laboratory is also an interdisciplinary research center where theories and researches of different areas of study concerning manufacturing and promoting Ultrasonic Products are tested and conducted. Since there are still many undiscovered subjects in this modern technology, this center is deemed to become the basis for profound achievements in Ultrasonic industries in the near feature. [2]

Funding

edit

The Ultrasonic Research Laboratory of Tehran was established in 2021 at the Islamic Azad University, Science and Research Branch, 22, 2nd Floor, Second Educational Block, Tehran, Iran . [3]

The laboratory was inaugurated in this unit on 01/10/1400 in the presence of Dr. Jamshid Sabbaghzad, Vice President of the Islamic Azad University. On 11/02/1400, Dr. Abdullah Mohammadi, Director General of Laboratory Network and Research Centers of Islamic Azad University, visited the Ultrasonic Laboratory in the Science and Research Unit, accompanied by Dr. Seyed Babak Mozaffari, Vice Chancellor for Technology and Innovation, Nanotechnology Laboratory (Ultrasonic Research).[4]

In this laboratory, specialized ultrasonic research and experiments are performed by the latest ultrasonic devices with different frequencies. Various and advanced ultrasonic.

Equipment and devices

edit

Equipment and devices with different frequencies in the range of 20 kHz to 15 MHz with different powers and capabilities, as well as a combined ultrasonic-mechanical circulator are available in this laboratory. Extensive applications of ultrasonic waves in various fields include improving the quality of food by creating and controlling the effect of cavitation, production of particles at the nanoscale, particle velocity determination, non-destructive testing, etc. This laboratory can be used and researched professionally and for reference in different and interdisciplinary sciences, from the manufacturing and production stage to quality control. The use of ultrasonic oscillations is one of the methods used in various sciences today and its combination with other modern and traditional processes can have an important effect in optimizing these processes.
