Airsoft Gameplay Methods edit

Basic Game Variants edit

here are some of the basic game variants the airsofters play.

Elimination — Generally the most common variant of airsoft played, and again mostly among new-comers to the sport. Elimination rules can be played by two or more teams. Essentially, teams engaging in combat until there is only one team left still in play.

Capture the Flag (CTF) — While the primary objective in Elimination is to eliminate as many enemy players as possible, the primary objective in Capture the Flag (sometimes abbreviated to CTF) is to capture the enemy flag instead. This is a very popular game type, second only to Elimination itself. CTF is also not limited to airsoft.Often in CTF, there are two flags - one for each team. Each flag would ideally be situated in a base, bunker or some other such defendable position, which is then called the 'flag station'. The enemy team must find the opposition's flag station, seize the flag, and return it to their own flag station. Once the enemy flag is in one's own flag station and one's own flag is still there, then victory may be claimed. A one-flag variant has one flag situated in a mutually agreed upon position, and each team attempts to bring it back to their base, or the opponent's base.

Assault, or Siege — Assault is a fairly common game variant where the players are divided into two equal teams. One team — the 'defenders' — must hold a fixed location on the field. The other team — the 'attackers' — must attempt to completely eliminate the defenders or touch a flag in the center of the defenders' base. The defenders, in contrast, must completely eliminate the attackers or hold their flag for a set amount of time.

Protect the President / VIP - The objective of the game is to protect the president or king (hence the title). At least two teams are formed. Each team chooses a President. From this point on, each team may devise their own strategy, but the objective is always constant. Kill the enemy president while being sure to protect your own. If the president on either team is eliminated, the game is over. Another form of Protect the President is to divide into two teams, a Secret Service and Terrorist Factions. The Secret Service team has an unarmed president, and the terrorist's job is to kill that one person. The Secret Service is to either eliminate the Terrorists or move to a certain safe-zone or Landing Zone on the map. This is a great way to play if someone runs out of battery or CO2 for their gas pistols.

Commando Raid- there are two teams, Commandos and the Rebels. The goal of the game is for the commandos to bring back 3 or more items back to the extraction point while the Rebels must defend these item. Anyone shot is down for the game. Commandos can only use 1/2 of their gun's bb capcity, while the rebels can use a full clip/hopper but cant reload it.

Forts- there are two teams and 6 or more small forts on the field<shipping palets are excellent to use for small forts>. the oblective is to capture all the forts. if you're hit you go to your respawn point. first team to capture all forts wins.

Airsoft Gun Magazine section test edit

Standard edit

Standard magazines are the type of magazine provided by Tokyo Marui and some other manufacturers with their guns. They are known as "Standard" or "Standard-cap" as they are the standard magazine for many weapons. Many contain around 68 BBs (the standard amount for a Tokyo Marui magazine) and are normally loaded by inserting pellets down a shaft, compressing a spring held inside that will later feed the pellets into the gun.

Standard magazines offer quiet operation (no rattle or manual winding of high-capacity magazines) and are sometimes the only option available for certain airsoft gun models. They are also useful to help players limit their ammunition consumption and simulate more realism by simulating the 20-40 rounds in a real rifle.

Standard magazines almost only come with Tokyo Marui guns whereas some companies like Classic Army or ICS supply high-capacity magazines with their guns. However, most magazines will not feed every single pellet, leaving 2-3 pellets at the end of the magazine or in the feed tube of the hop-up chamber (some players may circumvent this problem by inverting the gun to allow gravity to feed the pellets instead). [1]

Low capacity (Low-cap) edit

Low cap mags hold no more than 100 rounds for AEGs. Low caps are used for players who are interested in a more realistic way than a player who uses mid or high caps. These mags can be used with all AEGS & other electric rifles, and are the only magazines available for pistols. They come standard with guns manufactured by companies such as Tokyo Marui. They are also standard with spring guns.

A low-cap mag uses a regular spring to push the bbs to the extraction point and they need to be manually fed 1 bb at a time to full capacity for all pistols and some rifles. For rifles, a speed loader is typically used which loads about 4-10 bbs per plunge.
