I compared Sinterklaas from the English and the Dutch Wikipedia pages. I chose this topic because I come from a Dutch family and when growing up was subjected to the confusion of Christmas on both December 25 and December 6. I know that the English culture and the Dutch culture view Sinterklaas very differently and thus chose the topic.

In general, the Dutch article seemed to contain more information than the English one. The Dutch article definitely focuses more on the specific traditions and variations of Sinterklaas in regards to the holiday. The English article does mention traditions and explains the holiday but not in a as much detail and does not cover variations. The most similar parts of the articles are in the history sections. Both articles extensively cover the of Sinterklaas including origin and arrival.

I was not really surprised by my search results. It makes a lot of sense that the Dutch article covers the holiday traditions in greater detail. The holiday is celebrated in the Netherlands and not in America. I was a little surprised that the American article included just as much history as the Dutch article. However, in retrospect, I realized it makes sense because history is important in all cultures whereas specifics of holiday traditions might not be as pertinent and important to cultures that do not celebrate said holiday.
