This page is for IP/unconfirmed editors who wish to leave a comment on Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style but cannot do so because I've protected the page for 3 days. I will move over comments that actually seem to be from regular WP editors and that are directly connected to the discussion and/or our policies and guidelines. Anyone who just makes a "For" vote will have their edits ignored--again, as I said on that page, Wikipedia is not a democracy. Qwyrxian (talk) 14:02, 26 August 2013 (UTC)

editHi Qwyrxian. Thanks for providing this page so that IPs and new users could still contribute. Could you please add the following to the bottom of WT:MOS in a new section? Thanks.
== Time magazine article on naming conventions ==
For those who are interested, Time magazine has recently published an article on naming conventions related to the Manning name change. It can be found at When Did Chelsea Manning Become Chelsea Manning? on their website. I'll note this was already mentioned, but seems to be buried in one of the discussions above and I thought others might be interested in reading it. 64.40.54.112 (talk) 02:33, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the help. 64.40.54.112 (talk) 02:33, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
- You're welcome. I've copied it over in a new section at the bottom. The semi-protection ends in about 10 hours, so as long as we don't get a new flood of For voters, you should be free to respond to people at that time. Of course, if you want to respond sooner, or if I have to reinstate the protection, feel free to comment here and I'll copy it over as soon as I can. Qwyrxian (talk) 03:22, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks very much for the help. I doubt I'll comment on that page any more—too much dramah. I just wanted to provide a heads up to people interested in manual of style/naming convention stuff. I don't really like the IP !voting, but I'll AGF and assume they're new and don't know the rules yet. Perhaps somebody could temporarily modify Template:Editnotices/Page/Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style to say that IPs are allowed to comment, but if they want to !vote For or Against something, they should register an account. But they'd probably only notice it if it had big flashing red letters. Oh well. Thanks again for the help. 64.40.54.42 (talk) 06:34, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
