He has served as food and drink columnist of the Chicago Tribune and the Washington Post, taught at Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration, taught at Le Cordon Bleu in Chicago, directed AOL's Food & Drink Network for 3 years, and founded the Beverage Testing Institute, the World Wine Championships, World Beer Championships, and World Spirits Championships. He has been a Contributing Editor for Restaurant Hospitality magazine and wrote the first column for the Huffington Post's food section.
