Keep Wikipedia authoritative. I am an enormous fan of Wikipedia, which I view as the finest collective reference resource extant.
On the other hand, I am appalled by urban legends and other patently-false inanities that circulate in increasing volume within the internet.
I believe a small but unsettling number of these canards make their way into Wikipedia. On those rare occasions when I stumble across items which I believe to be erroneous or of dubious etymology, I want to submit my critiques to interested and authoritative readers.
