Praveen Kumar Mishra is presently General Manager of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works(CLW) a premier production unit of Indian Railways under Ministry of Railways w.e.f 20th Sept. 2018 (AN).
Prior to this, he was the Addl. General Manager , North Central Railway. He belongs to Indian Railway Service of Engineers ( IRSE) of 1981 Exam batch . He is Gold Medalist in Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from Government Engg. College / Rewa and joined Indian Railways in 1983.
During his distinguished career, He held various important positions as - Principal Chief Engineer in Western Railway / Mumbai & East Central Railway/ Hazipur , Chief Safety Officer in Western Railway/ Mumbai , Chief Engineer & Chief Bridge Engineer in North Central Railway / Allahabad . He was also the Divisional Railway Manager / Hubli in South Western Railway. He is Post Graduate Diploma in Public Management & Policy from IIM, Ahmedabad ( 2008-09) which included courses in Heinz School of Public Policy & Information Technology, Carnegie Melon University, USA. He has also attended Leadership programme from Tepper School of Business, Pittsburgh, USA in 2017 .
He has a vast experience of 35 years in Operation & Maintenance of Railway Systems, Construction of Infrastructure , Bridges, Tunnels, New Railroads /Doubling/Gauge Conversion & Yard Remodeling, Human Resource Management involving Multidisciplinary team of Operation-Commercial-Finance Managers, including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical , Signalling and Diesel traction engineering . He has dealt almost all facets of workings on Indian Railways.
