Wikipedian Prari has long enjoyed reading encyclopedic articles related to practical technology and the history of inventions. For fun he read much of Encyclopædia Britannica in the early 1970s. With internet access since 1985 he joined newsgroups, downloaded articles via FTP, and surfed non-commercial portions of the worldwide web, but was skeptical of Wikipedia. Without his help, it became the dominant information source and gained credibility not only with students but also with some professional journalists. In 2009 he registered here and then started editing part-time to clean up existing content. Fact-checking, hyperlinking, and copy-editing are natural tasks for him.
