1) Classical PKU due to defect in phenylalanine hydroxylase
2) PKU type 2 and PKU type 3 due to defect in dihydrobiopterin reductase ,
3) PKU type 4 and PKU type 5 due to defect in synthesis of tetrahydrobiopterin .
