Definition edit

Colors - Signifies a motorcycle club or organization patch or group of paths.[1]

Appearance edit

Colors are seen as an embroidered patch or set of patches, two or three in a set, sewn on the back of a vest or jacket.[2] The Patriot Guard Riders also use an optional arm band.[3] A patch with or simply the letters MC, Motorcycle Club, will often accompany the club name.[4]

Application/Purpose edit

A Patch Holder is a member is a motorcycle club[5] and indicated by a specific large club patch or set of patches usually located in the middle of the back of a vest or jacket. The patch(es) may contain a club logo, the name of the club and other chapter identification. On three patch sets small upper and lower patches may be worn by members, usually the clubs chapter name or location is found on the rockers.[6]

Colors are intended to show the riders interest in motorcycling and to promote the club that the wearer belongs to. Club members proudly wear their colors to rallies, picnics and other motorcycling events.[7]

As a general rule, the “one-percent” clubs arrangement is used not only as an indication as membership in a particular club but also as communication of the level of that membership to the other members of that club.[8] Also see Outlaw motorcycle club#Colors
