About Me

Introduction

edit

I'm an occasional Wikipedia editor with a wide variety of subjects that I like to work on. My educational background is in languages/linguistics (specializing in French) and political science/politics (specializing in Comparative Politics of Western Democracies, especially Canada). Professionally, I've worked as a researcher and proofreader/editor for many years, often working freelance.

One of my biggest drawbacks as a Wikipedia editor is a tend to be a bit timid about doing big edits and plugging in information from sources that I've come across in my research.

I am always happy to work on projects and do very well when working collaboratively with deadlines.

Wikipedia Interests

edit

I tend to work in English, but am comfortable in a few languages (though my work in other Wikipedias are less intense). When I have time, I like to do translations of articles that are missing or deficient in English, but can be improved from another Wikipedia.

My most frequent edits are copyedits: adding errant commas, fixing misspellings, and other minor issues.

I also like to "normalize" translations into English. I am always happy to look over an article or section by a non-native English speaker and make minor changes in grammar, colloquialisms, and other issues that make a page "flow" better.
