The true background of Peter Hawkes
He was a Vietnam Veteran. He used to visit my father (a doctor). He'd come in wearing 'out of style' stubbies (australian shorts - that were far too short - as short as hot pants but loose fitting lol). He'd hold a misshapen cane which he didn't use to lean on, nor for sight (he could see!).
He came into my father's surgery and huff and sigh. There was no one in front of him and he'd say:"when can I see your father?" (as if he was in a hurry, places to go, people to see, women to do???).
I thought his impertenance was amazing. He was in no position to make demands. He stank, was scruffy and a poor representation of an invalid. That made him a character and the driver to the Peter Hawkes Site.
He even had brain issues. He was in NO position to ask for anything. Anyways, cheers to all the plonkers out there like Peter.
