Simons, a position he held in addition to being one of the firm's Lead Trial Attorneys in Driving Under the Influence (DUI) cases until 2016 when he left the firm to form his own firm: The SoCal Law Network. Mr. Iocona has successfully tried and litigated DUI cases in courts throughout California, most specifically, Southern California.

Mr. Iocona was selected as a "Top-Rated DUI Attorney" by AVVO, an attorney rating service, and was featured in the annual publication of OC Metro Magazine of the "Top-Rated DUI Attorneys" in 2015. Mr. Iocona was also named a "Super Lawyer's Rising Star" in 2015 and 2016 and is rated "10/10" or "Superb" by AVVO, the attorney-rating service.

Mr. Iocona is considered a "Criminal Defense/DUI Trial Lawyer". All litigators are lawyers, but not all lawyers are actual litigators. This is an important distinction because trial expertise requires both natural talent and years of specialized training and experience. Effective trial lawyers evaluate and prepare trial cases from the very beginning. Trial Attorneys leverage that experience to minimize risks and maximize results. This is why trial lawyers typically achieve better results for their clients.

Based on Mr. Iocona's experience as a trial lawyer, he was also selected as one of the "Top 100 Trial Lawyers" by the National Trial Lawyers Association and has been selected for inclusion on the list of the "Nation’s Top One Percent", as published by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel (NADC).

Mr. Iocona has "Qualified" to Administer the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST) under the standards set forth by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and has "Qualified" as a Standardized Field Sobriety Test Instructor. Mr. Iocona has also been certified on the proper maintenance, calibration and administration of breath testing.
