By the time he relocated to London, Pete Martin had written over 15 No 1’s and countless top 10’s becoming one of South Africa’s most sought after multi- platinum selling producer/songwriters. Soon after arriving in the U.K, Universal Island signed Pete to his first international label deal, working closely with Darcus Beese and Nic Gatfield.
Today he is an award winning producer/songwriter with cuts in many territories around the world and has written, produced and remixed for a variety of top selling artists such as James Arthur, Arrow Benjamin, Jessie J, Mali Music, Missy Elliot, Rizzle Kicks and Sugababes.
In 2016 Pete signed an international deal with SONY/ATV Music Publishing. He was shortlisted for an Oscar nomination alongside Arrow Benjamin and U.S artist Mali Music for their song “Sit down for this". Pete also produced the song which featured on Spike Lee’s movie “Chi - Raq”. He has previously ventured into the film world, working at Remote Control, Hans Zimmer's studio in L.A, remixing and lending his distinctive edgy style to movie soundtracks. In 2020 Pete joined Pusher Music in L.A, writing and producing movie trailers which included Sam Mendes' movie "Empire of the light" and others such as "The Batman", "Where the Crawdads sing", "See how they run" and "We own this City" to name a few.
Pete has also produced and written a new track on James Arthur's 2022 album - "It'll make sense in the end", previously securing 2 tracks on his number 1 album "Back from the edge." He has also extensively collaborated with Denzyl Fiegelson's company "Platoon". Together they have released a series of albums for the Apple Lofi Dolby playlists.
