Morrison Cup V

The Morrison Cup is an often-held video game soccer tournament played on various Playstation systems. 4 Morrison Cups have been started, but results are only available for 2 of them. One of the Morrison Cups, MC IV, was never finished due to a broken PS2

History edit

Background edit

Whilst enjoying a hearty game of FIFA 07 one day, Pete Ruocco decided to host a FIFA tournament. After gathering some friends, the Morrison Cup was created. On one fateful Saturday afternoon, 6 men assembled at Flint Arena and played for many hours. The tournament was so enjoyable that they agreed to do it again...and again.

The tournament and its trophy are named after Jim Morrison, the deceased lead singer of The Doors. Ruocco felt that this was a very suitable name due to his affinity for The Doors.

MC I edit

For full article, see Morrison Cup I

The inaugural Morrison Cup was attended by 6 players, and was played with 8 teams. After a thrilling Group Stage final game, Lyon, led by manager Peter Ruocco, defeated Ken Heidle's Real Madrid in the final.

MC II edit

Morrison Cup II was played with worse teams, and the results were lost in a tragic accident at Pete Ruocco's house. Officially, Ruocco's side DC United were the champions, with Alecko Eskandarian winning player of the tournament honors.

MC IV edit

Unfortunately, Morrison Cup IV was abandoned due to a broken Playstation 2. The games could not be completed, although approximately half the tournament was finished. There is no official ending other than "abandoned tournament."
