Aimin Liu is a Chinese-born American protein chemist with the academic nickname Feradical.[1] He is currently the Professor and Lutcher Brown Distinguished Chair in Biochemistry at The University of Texas at San Antonio.[2] He was previously a Distinguished University Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Georgia State University.[3][4]
Professor Liu is interested in studying amino acid metabolism, biogenesis of protein-derived cofactors, biosynthesis of natural products with antibacterial and antitumor properties, mechanistic enzymology, and protein structure-function relationships.[5][6][7][8]
