Musical Background edit

Even though music has always been in my surroundings, I began my music performance when I was eleven years old. After finding out I was injured and I was not able to play sports anymore, I found that old guitar in the closet. For the first 5 years I taught myself how to play guitar, but after a while I decided I needed a good teacher. After struggling with all different types of bad teachers, one of my friends introduced me to Ignacio Gutierrez, who was the disciple of the disciple of the disciple of Chopin (for piano), and the disciple of Markevich (Russian violin player who taught him all the secrets about trumpet). He is a master in piano and trumpet, he has directed the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO), and he dedicates his life to teaching. He is a sensei that can teach any instrument or aspect of music in an interesting, fun, addictive and self-fulfilling way. On my first years I mostly played blues and rock n’ roll, but when I found the good teacher he mainly focused on bossa nova, jazz, classical and vey chromatic blues if that makes sense. He did not let me make decisions like which songs to learn. At first that was annoying, but after a while I realized his teaching techniques really were the best. After being his student for a couple of years, I decided to come to Berklee. He has been a very strong influence in my music, and changed my way of playing and listening to music.

Outlook edit

I believe music and all forms of art come from a creative flow that lives above us. Artists are messengers. We reach and grab an idea, and it is our job to deliver the message. One’s understanding and master of the elements of music and art will make that creative flow more accessible. Nobody owns the idea, but the projection of the idea itself.
